Red skirt

Last time I took pictures, I did a few projects at once. Knowing how bad I am at posting, I decided to spread it out a little so there would be two posts in one week! haha.
Anyway, this is a skirt I made using a pattern of my own. I did try to make the pockets actually work, but they were not really doing what I wanted, so I just made it look like pockets. Also, I need to make the waistband smaller becuase everytime I put it on, it slides down. Too bad I am being too lazy/busy to actually fix it -_-

(The ‘pockets’)

(The obligatory sink picture…)

I like it alright, but it certainly isn’t a favorite. It doesn’t seem like the past few things I have made have been all that great, but I have a few up my sleeve that I am pretty darn excited about… but no sneak peeks qutie yet. Which reminds me, I really need to take more pictures of uncompleted projects. I rarely do that =/ Maybe that way I would post every other day, instead of every five days or so.

Christmas is already close! Well, maybe not for everyone. Because I am making most every gift, as well as store things, swap things, and personal items, I have to start soon. Other wise, I have to actually buy premade and where is the fun in that? There will be Christmas present progress pictures, so I will have to warn the recipient not to look! I think for friends, I will be making these awesome notebooks. I just love the idea of picking fabric for the cover, as well as choosing fun papers for the inside.

it’s fact

Finally a picture post! Be warned, these pictures are what happen when you are home alone with the flu. lol.
Anyway, I lost the before picture to this first project, which is annoying becuase it is so much more interesting with. It started at as a gigantic men’s polo shirt. I stitched close the polo opening, turned that to the back, slimmed at and fixed the sleeves. I honestly like simple recons better than the really crazy ones.
So, on to the pictures of my Argyle sweater dress:

This is a picture of the back where the buttons and polo collar were:

The second is very simple. I found this shirt:
And made it fitted with medium length sleeves and black jersey bands around the bottom and the sleeves.

If you couldn’t tell, I like standing on my sink.
I apologize for the lack of interesting posts on my blog. I’ve been sick quite a lot, and I have been busy with a few swaps. I am trying to be better about posting more interesting things, but I forget a lot.
Someday I will also take better pictures, but I didn’t really feel up to it.

My day today consisted of sitting on the couch with a big basket of yarn next to me. I finished up some things, frogged some others. I also started a few new projects which I’m not sure about yet :/

I have a Halloween lament. I am the queen of Halloween. I make myself some crazy costume that U’ve been planning for months, I usually make costumes for a few other people, and I always end up with the most candy. Halloween is my favorite holiday- seriously, it is. But this year is different… First, I have nothing to do. I don’t really even have a posse I can gather up to watch stupid movies or go trick or treating with. I can’t have candy anyway, and making a costume to wear while being sick on the couch would probably be worse than not dressing up at all. Maybe next year… or I could just dress up for Christmas and pretend it’s Halloween. Now there’s an idea.

…and again

I finally got around to making that tunic actually look cute. Hooray for me 😛
…but becuase I am not feeling all that great today, you won’t be able to see my sick (as in ill) face ::)

I like it 20 million times better! It fits better and I feel more comfortable in it. Besides, it doesn’t look so much like a bag anymore, which is always good!

It ended up looking ALOT (as in almost the same) as a shirt from Forever 21… But mine is better becuase it fits better, it won’t fall apart and it cost $7. I win ::) I honestly didn’t mean for that to happen, but whatever. I like mine better…

Anchors away

This whole not sewing thing is a little odd O_o On the one hand, I wouldn’t mind doing a little creating, but on the other it’s kind of nice.
I’m trying out screen printing. My mom laughed at me for starting yet another thing 😀 I obviously don’t have any of the correct tools, but I am trying out the cheapy version to see what I think. The glue is going everywhere but since when do I not make huge messes?

This is actually a very old project. I made it to wear to a wedding in like… um… I am going to say June?? These pictures were taken very quickly, and, I have nothing better to show for it. One of these days I will buy a nice camera of my own and try to take half-decent photos.
Anyway, on to the pictures:

(note: I think I was half done teasing my hair, thats whats wrong with it… at least I hope I wasn’t done O_o)

(Isn’t that the most adorable fabric ever?? I love it! This one is closer to the actual color of the dress.)

Did you notice I didn’t block out my face? lol. I am making a tard face in the first picture, but honestly I don’t care right now.

Hrm, what to talk about? I really wish I could be more interesting on my blog, but I talk better in real life then I do online. Maybe after more project it will get better.

My car might be able to come today! I really hope he does. As soon as possible (meaning next week X_X) I will take pictures of my* baby and you can all know his name as well. Hopefully he doesn’t break down and die before then. ha.
I will stop rambling now. To end this all, I am going to bless you all with some vintage hilarity. O.K., so it isn’t hilarious, but I think it’s kind of cute and funny.

*Note: The car is not mine per se. I call it mine and my mom is always reminding me that it is not mine it is hers and my dad’s. I will still call it mine, but it isn’t… yet.

*edit* I am in the middle of a small personal swap, but I was wondering if anyone would like to do a personal swap with me? Preferably someone who lives farther away and has access to all of the goodies unavailable here 😀 Anyway, it doesn’t really have to be extremely crafty. Maybe some small things: fabric, magazines, candy, small projects, etc. If you might be slightly interested, leave a comment and I can give you my e-mail address 🙂 If no one wants to, it’s not a huge deal. I might just join on Craftster….

Stripey goodness!!

I think I may be a tiny bit obsessed with these kind of tops. hehe.

This one is for sale:

(O_O!!! It’s my face!?!?! lol)

I reconstructed this one for myself. It only took me about 45 minutes:

(That is me and my funny jumping face.)

Also, I have a wist! I love this thing… maybe a little too much?

*EDIT* I had two things but I don’t know if I will remember both. First: I might be getting a car!! Well, not exactly mine but my sister will use it to drive to school and then by the time I need it we will either share or she will have gone away to college.
Second (I just remembered), I got as job. Not very exciting but every Friday I will be babysitting two girls and I will make about $50 a week. Which works perfectly with ym school schedule and everything else schedule.

60’s style mini-dress

yoke detail:

This is my very first from scratch knit… thing. I really like how it turned out, so I think I will be making another for myself.
It is for sale: Square Peg

Comments, critiques?

Red polka-dot babydoll

I’m not so sure about this one. I haven’t been to into anything I’ve made lately :/ Please be brutally honest about what you think! I want every suggestion on how to improve my stuff.

(* Nush: I was going to use your suggestions but I ran out of fabric and piping :/)

It is for sale on my Etsy. I will someday put my face in pictures, but today wasn’t the best day for that O_o
